Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure diagnostic method capable of diagnosing a failure of an apparatus relating to detection of a combustion state of an internal combustion engine such as a fuel injection control device. SOLUTION: A failure of a section relating to ion current detection and an ignition system of the internal combustion engine is diagnosed by determining whether a predetermined style occurs on ion signal ION1-ION4 acquired from ion current detection sensors B1-B4 detecting ion current generated during combustion in the internal combustion engine during a predetermined period of one operation cycle of the internal combustion engine.
