Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and its control method reducing damage of the device caused by foreign matter or damage of foreign matter caused by the device when the foreign matter adheres to a recording medium. SOLUTION: This image forming device forming images on the recording medium conveyed by a conveying means is provided with a foreign matter determination part 102 for detecting the foreign matter adhering to a recording paper, and an image forming device control part 122 determining whether the operation of the image forming device is stopped or continued with the operation conditions of the image forming device changed, according to a result detected by the foreign matter determination part 102.
