MAGNETO-OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-optical recording medium which can adequately improve the jitter characteristics of a reproduction signal. SOLUTION: The magneto-optical recording medium is provided with a layered structure which comprises: a recording layer 21 having a recording function; a reproduction layer 12 having a reproduction function; and an intermediate layer 23 which lies between the recording layer 21 and the reproduction layer 12, has a layered structure comprising a low coercive force part 23b, which has relatively low coercive force and contacts the recording layer 21, and a high coercive force part 23a which has relatively high coercive force, and changes an exchange coupling state of the recording layer 21 and reproduction layer 12.
