MAP DATA PROCESSING APPARATUS AND MAP DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map data processing apparatus and a map data processing system enhancing the efficiency in update processing of map data and enhancing user's convenience. SOLUTION: The map data processing apparatus 30 comprises: a display processing section 35 which reads, out of a storage section 34 storing map data, the map data containing an area corresponding to a display command and makes a display section 36 display a map in accordance with the map data; and an update processing section 37 which updates the map data in the storage section 34. The update processing section 37 carries out update processing when an update request is made with respect to the map data not being read out to the display processing section 35. When an update request is made with respect to the map data being read out to the display processing section 35, the update processing section 37 does not carry out update processing but displays, on the display section 36, a comment that update request is being made and a concrete area of which update is requested for.
