Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable flat string and a Stirling engine using the flat spring capable of reducing man-hours, and capable of reducing the number of part items. SOLUTION: In this flat spring 30, a central part 37 having a fixing inserting part 38 for inserting a fixing member 34a therein and supported via an arm 36 spirally extending toward the center from a peripheral part 35 fixed to an external part is elastically deformed in the direction vertical with respect to a surface. The fixing inserting part 38 in the vicinity of a connecting part 36a of the peripheral part 35 and the arm 36 can insert the fixing member 34a in a plurality of positions by forming a plurality of through-holes 38a to 38d along the peripheral direction of forming an obtuse angle in parallel with the extending direction of the arm 36 from the connecting part 36a.
