METHOD AND DEVICE FOR WEFT INSERTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for weft insertion into a shed of a rapier loom simply constituted and/or controlled as compared with a conventional art. SOLUTION: The method and the device for inserting a weft yarn in which the weft yarn 3 is taken up by a delivery rapier 10 and fixedly clamped in the delivery repair by means of a yarn clamp, inserted into the shed by means of the delivery rapier and taken up by a receiving rapier. In the method, the clamping force of the yarn clamp in the delivery rapier is additionally controlled during the weft insertion in such a way that the clamping force F0 during the take-up of the weft yarn and/or during the delivering of the weft yarn is reduced relative to the clamping force F1 in the insertion stage lying therebetween.
