Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron beam welding method of nickel-based or cobalt-based superalloy components which includes a step of locally preheating a member before and during the welding. SOLUTION: The method comprises a step of preheating one or more components 16, 18 to be welded to a target temperature of at least 1,500 °F in a vacuum chamber, a step of feeding a filler of the harmonized strength and the chemical composition to a welding zone while maintaining the target temperature until welding is completed, and a step of welding the one or more preheated components in a weldment region 20 utilizing an electron beam 12.
