Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unknown toxin produced by Clostridium perfringens, a vaccine for Clostridium perfringens type C, using the toxin and/or toxoid thereof, and a method for detecting the Clostridium perfringens, using the toxin as an index. SOLUTION: The unknown toxin is a protein composed of a specific amino acid sequence, obtained by purifying an unknown component fatal to a mouse, and obtained from a concentrated solution of a culture liquid of MC18 strain of the Clostridium perfringens type C, incorporating the purified component into Escherichia coli, and specifying the expressed protein by the monoclonal of the toxin.
