HANDOVER METHOD AND CELLULAR COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use both soft and hard handover particularly in a CDMA cellular communication system so that the advantages of both methods can be obtained. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a cellular communication system and a method for a handover in the cellular communication system which includes at least one base station (BTS) per each cell, the base station being controlled by a base station controller (BSC) which controls one or more base stations, and the base station controller, with the base stations under its control, forms a base station system.
