Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generator for air-conditioning and its control method capable of effectively utilizing generated power by continuing power generation even under a situation of comparatively low air-conditioning load. SOLUTION: In this generator for air-conditioning comprising a gas engine 23, a compressor 21 for air-conditioning and a generator 24 driven by the gas engine 23, and a main controller 27 controlling the gas engine 23 to variably control an operating ability, the main controller 27 comprises a first operation mode for controlling the gas engine 23 to achieve a reference operating ability corresponding to the air-conditioning load, and a second operation mode for controlling the gas engine 23 to achieve an operating ability limited in its ability in comparison with the reference operating ability according to the air-conditioning load, and the operation mode can be switched to the first operation mode and the second operation mode.
