PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which decreases the number of conveyance of sheets of paper during printing while ink is prevented from sticking on the whole paper caused by bringing the paper into contact with an ink sheet for a long time, and needs no pressing mechanism during printing. SOLUTION: This sublimation type printer (printer) is equipped with: a printing head part 2 which is composed of an ink sheet cartridge 23 for storing the ink sheet 29 to be mounted, and comprises: a laser irradiating part 2d for irradiation with a laser light 34 from a position at a specified distance from the paper 50 and the ink sheet 29 to stick the ink on the paper 50 by applying a quantity of heat on the ink sheet 23; and a feeding roller 4 for conveying the paper 50. Printing is performed by irradiation with the laser light 34 from the laser irradiating part 2d in the state where the ink sheet 29 is brought into contact with the paper 50 while the ink sheet 29 is conveyed in the arrow mark T3 direction, and the paper 50 is conveyed in both the arrow mark T1 direction and the reverse direction thereof in plan view.
