SIGNAL CONVERSION METHOD, VELOCITY SIGNAL CONVERTER, AND TOUCH PANEL TYPE INPUT DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain usability of a touch panel similar to a track ball. SOLUTION: While an operator's finger is in a contact state, an input velocity signal (vx) representing moving velocity of the finger is output through a low-pass filter (3x) with a comparatively small time constant (Ta) and when a state of the operator's finger changes from the contact state to a non-contact state, the last velocity signal (vx) is output through a low-pass filter (3x) with a comparatively large time constant (Tb). Since the last velocity signal lasts even after the operator's finger becomes the non-contact state, an operation of the track ball rotating by inertia is imitated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
