SLIDING DOOR LOCKING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door locking device which is usable even if a sliding door itself cannot secure a space where a hook portion of the device hooks, is easy to use, and simple in structure. SOLUTION: When the user wants to lock the sliding door according to the present embodiment, he or she holds a handle portion 21 of the device 3, and a planar insertion portion 13 is inserted into a gap 27 between the sliding door 33 in a closed position and the counterpart sliding door 29 or in a gap between the sliding door in the closed position and a wall, and rotates the entire device 3 about a rotating shaft portion 17. Thus a first abutting portion 15 is abutted on a front end face 31 of the counterpart sliding door 29, and a second abutting portion 19 is abutted on a rear end face 35 of the sliding door 33 in the closed position.
