OPTICAL WRITING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical writing apparatus in which an initialization operation is properly performed to determine an appropriate electric current for lighting laser even when the scanning period time for specular reflection state is remarkably reduced due to increase in speed of an image forming apparatus, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: When respective electric current values are determined, a scanning time for a line is made longer than the execution time for determining the electric current value. Concretely, the rotation speed of a deflection means which scans the laser light from a laser when the respective electric current values are determined is made slower than the rotation speed of the deflection means in image forming (S102), and the period of the laser light scanning is made long. Thus, the initialization operation is properly performed to determine the appropriate electric current for lighting the semiconductor laser even when the scanning period time for the specular reflection state is remarkably reduced due to increase in speed of an image forming apparatus.
