METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYESTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production by which a polyester having a high level of clarity can stably be produced. SOLUTION: The method for producing the polyester is carried out as follows: a slurry composed of a dicarboxylic acid and a glycol and prepared in a slurry preparation vessel is continuously fed to an esterification reaction vessel and an esterification reaction is conducted by using the one esterification reaction vessel. Polycondensation is subsequently carried out in a polycondensation reaction vessel to thereby continuously produce the polyester. In the method, (1) a phosphorus compound is added to at least one site selected from the group consisting of the slurry preparation vessel, esterification reaction vessel, polycondensation reaction vessel and transfer lines between the vessels and (2) a stirring type in-line mixer is installed in at least one site selected from the group consisting of the slurry preparation vessel, the transfer line leading from the slurry preparation vessel to the esterification reaction vessel and the transfer line leading from the esterification reaction vessel to the polycondensation reaction vessel and an alkaline earth metal compound is added to the in-line mixer.
