Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hard coating exhibiting excellent performance in dry machining with both of a coating with high melting resistance in the vicinity of the ridgeline of the blade of a rake face having scrapes flowing therein, which tends to form a built-up edge, and a coating with high heat resistance/oxidation resistance preventing the occurrence of crater wear under the influence of heat on the rake face having scrapes flowing therein. SOLUTION: In a first layer 2 contacted with a tool body 1, the coating of TiN, TiAlN, or CrN is put on as an adhesion layer. In a second layer 3, the coating of TiAlN or TiSiN is put on as a heat resistance, abrasion resistance layer. In a third layer 4, the coating of AlCrN is put on as a heat resistance, oxygen barrier layer. In a forth layer 5 which is the outmost surface, the coating of TiAlN or TiSiN is put on as a melting resistance layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
