Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire drawing method for a magnesium based alloy where wire drawing can be smoothly and stably performed without disconnection by cold drawing, thus a drawn wire made of a magnesium based ally having excellent strength and toughness, and satisfactory appearance quality can be obtained at a low production cost. SOLUTION: The wire drawing method for a magnesium based alloy where the workpiece of a magnesium based alloy is inserted into a die, and is wire-drawn by drawing comprises: a first stage where the workpiece is cold-drawn at a low reduction of area without beforehand heating the same using a lubricant; and a second stage where the cold-drawn workpiece is heated and cooled, and is thereafter cold-drawn.
