PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher with excellent handleability in simple constitution, capable of eliminating the need of the manual restraining operation of a washing tub and surely holding the washing tub. SOLUTION: The dishwasher comprises: the washing tub 2 installed freely movably to the front and back inside a dishwasher main body 1 opened at the front and provided with an opening 2f at the upper part; an inverting spring unit 5 for energizing and holding the washing tub 2 at a storage position; and a lock motor 7 for restraining the movement of the washing tub 2 by the signal of a position detection switch unit 6 which detects whether or not the washing tub 2 is at the storage position. The inverting spring unit 5 has an arm part 5b to be turned and inverted corresponding to the position of the washing tub 2 and directly operates the position detection switch unit 6 by the arm part 5b. Just by storing the washing tub 2 inside the dishwasher main body 1, the movement of the washing tub 2 is restrained, the operation of a user becomes the absolute minimum, and the handleability is excellent.
