THIN BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin battery capable of rapidly and surely alleviating increase of internal pressure in an abnormal time. SOLUTION: This thin battery 10 has a power generation element 11 housed in an armoring body 12. The power generation element 11 is composed by stacking positive electrode plates 111a, negative electrode plates 111b and separators 112, and the separator 112 has a flat shape larger than the positive electrode plate 111a and the negative electrode plate 111b. Parts reduced in distance between the peripheral edge part of the separator 112 and the peripheral edge parts of the electrodes plates 111a and 111b relative to the other parts are formed in partial parts of the separator 112 and the peripheral edge part of at least either of the positive electrode plate 111a and the negative electrode plate 111b.
