Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which enables the number of components thereof to be reduced by simplifying the constitution of a positioning means for positioning a belt unit relative to an image forming apparatus main body. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 includes: the image forming apparatus main body 12; a belt unit 28 including a conveying belt 60 freely movably disposed in the image forming apparatus main body 12 and conveying an image or a sheet, a support roll 58 for supporting the conveying belt 60, and a tension spring 64 that energizes the support roll 58 and holds the tension of the conveying belt 60; and the positioning member 66 disposed in the image forming apparatus main body 12 and positioning the support roll 58 relative to the image forming apparatus main body 12 by using the energizing force of the tension spring 64.
