CLEANING METHOD FOR INKJET PRINTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method high in cleaning ability on the head jetting surface and good in jetting stability. SOLUTION: The cleaning method for an ink jet printer provided with an ink supply tank, an ink jet head and a pump connected to the printer for the purpose of manipulating a pressure sensor and the ink-flow includes a step of increasing the pressure inside the ink supply tank, a step of discharging ink for several minutes from the nozzles of the inkjet head 4, a step of bringing a cleaning member into contact with the jetting surface of the ink jet head to remove foreign matter and the ink from the head jetting surface and a step of controlling the difference in pressure of the air and liquid interface inside the nozzles to absorb the ink present in the vicinity of the nozzles left over by the cleaning member, while an ink-sending operation and an ink-sucking operation from the pump 5 based on the information from the pressure sensor, are performed.
