Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel with high contrast. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal with a wavelength dispersion value of 1.15 or more is sealed in a liquid crystal cell 1. A twist retardation film 3 is disposed on the front face of the liquid crystal cell 1. A front side polarizing plate 2 is disposed on the twist retardation film 3. Also a rear side polarizing plate 4 is disposed on the rear face of the liquid crystal cell 1. The wavelength dispersion value of the liquid crystal is preferably ≥1.15 and ≤1.21. Anisotropy of the refractive index of the liquid crystal for light with 590 nm wavelength is preferably 0.18 or more, and a cell gap of the liquid crystal cell 1 is preferably set to be 5.0 μm or less.
