Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of jetting large flow of cold air in a normal operation and a defrosting operation. SOLUTION: This freezer comprises a heat pump 10 capable of reaching -30°C or lower, a cooler 11 disposed in a heat absorbing portion of the heat pump 10, a first cold storage member 20 having a melting point in a temperature range of lower than -30°C to which the heat pump can reach, a first storage compartment 38 for storing a first cooled object, a circulation passage for circulating the cold air, bypass means 51-53 for separating the first cold storage member 20 and the first storage compartment 38 from the cooler 11, a defrosting means performing defrosting when the circulation passage is separated, and a circulation fan 58 for circulating the cold air. By applying the cold storage member having a melting point near a target cooling temperature, a large amount of cold air of approximately constant temperature can be supplied for a long time by utilizing heat of melting. Accordingly, the inside of the first storage compartment can be kept at a very low temperature even during the defrosting operation while stopping the heat pump 10.
