METHOD FOR DECOMPOSING AND RECOVERING THERMOSET RESIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a copolymer of a crosslinked part with an acid from being an inhibiting factor of the recovery of a polyhydric alcohol and an acid. SOLUTION: The method for decomposing and recovering a thermoset resin includes mixing the thermoset resin of a target of the decomposition treatment with water and an additive such as alkali, subjecting the thermoset resin to the decomposition treatment by subcritical water, cooling the resultant product, and carrying out the solid-liquid separation thereof by filtration or the like. As a result, the water and water-soluble components dissolved in the water are obtained as a liquid component, and water, polyhydric alcohols such as glycol, and organic acids can be recovered by distillation therefrom. Inorganic materials such as a glass fiber and calcium carbonate contained in the thermoset resin, and the copolymer of the crosslinked part with the acid are obtained as a solid component, and the inorganic materials and the copolymer of the crosslinked part with the acid in the solid component can be recycled as a shrinkage-diminishing agent or a dispersing agent.
