LOWER BODY STRUCTURE FOR AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a side sill from being bent in a head-on collision of an automobile with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A lower body structure of an automobile comprises a slide door 4 for opening/closing a side opening part formed in the automobile body, a side sill 6 extending in the longitudinal direction of the body along a side part of a front panel 5, and a lower guide rail 15 which is provided in the side sill 6 to support a lower roller 11 of the slide door 4. An extension part 15a extending inward of the body is provided on a front end of the lower guide rail 15. A swollen part 25 which is projected inward of the body corresponding to the extension part 15a of the lower guide rail 15 is formed on a side sill inner 8 forming a wall surface on the in-cabin side of the side sill 6. There are provided reinforcing bar members 27, 28 for connecting a front part 31 of a swollen part 26 formed on the side sill inner 8 to a vicinity 25a of a front end of the swollen part 25.
