Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel oil additive which (i) is free of a metal, (ii) can impart excellent lubricity to a fuel oil, (iii) has excellent solubility in a fuel oil and (iv) reduces the occurrence of unwashed existent gum. SOLUTION: The fuel oil additive is expressed by general formula (1) (wherein, R is a 4-18C hydrocarbon group; A is an ethylenic group or a propylenic group; n is a number of 0 or 1; s, t and u are each a number of 0-3; s+t+u=3 provided that t and u are not 0 at the same time; and D1and D2are each independently a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyethyl group or a hydroxypropyl group).
