Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital still camera capable of photographing a person to be photographed at a timing desired by the person by remote control. SOLUTION: The digital still camera 1 is provided with: an imaging element 12 for imaging the person to be photographed to acquire image data; an eye tracing section 23 for continuously detecting an image of both the eyes of the person to be photographed on the basis of a motion picture picked up in the imaging element 12; a wink detecting section 24 for detecting a wink in a predetermined portion on the basis of the motion picture detected in the eye tracing section 23; and a mode setting section 17 used to press a shutter 13 for photographing of a still picture when the wink is detected in the wink detecting section 24.
