ILLUMINATION DEVICE EQUIPPED WITH OPTICAL TRANSMISSION MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device equipped with an optical communication mechanism which includes a light source and has a superior S/N ratio. SOLUTION: The illumination device equipped with an optical transmission mechanism includes a transmitting side electric circuit that produces encoded electric signal according to transmission signals, the light source that irradiates intensity modulated light according to the encoded electric signals, a light wavelength conversion means containing a phosphor that converts a part of the modulated light into illumination light, a photoelectric converting means that receives one part of other parts of modulated light and converts it into reproduction modulated electric signals, and a reception-side electric circuit that reproduces the transmission signals from the reproduction modulated signals, while the electric signals are encoded so that at least one different binary code is included in each unit, and the unit corresponds to a plurality of transmission signals.
