Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen separator simple in constitution and capable of rapidly starting specimen separation operation. SOLUTION: The specimen separator 1 is rotationally driven centering around a rotation axis Za-Zb by a rotor 50 to separate a predetermined component from a specimen and equipped with a hollow part 11 for housing the specimen, the housing container 33 positioned outside the hollow part 11 centering around the rotation axis Za-Zb to house the separated specimen containing the predetermined component the first and second communication passages 15 and 16 for allowing the hollow part 11 and the housing container 33 to communicate with each other and an attaching part 21 for attaching the specimen separator 1 to the rotor 50 in a detachable manner. The center of gravity of the specimen separator 1 is positioned on the rotation axis Za-Zb. Since the center of gravity of the specimen separator 1 is positioned on the rotation axis Za-Zb, the specimen separator 1 can be rotated in a stable state and, it is unnecessary to take balance using a balancer, the specimen separation operation can be rapidly started.
