RECORDING MATERIAL CARRYING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material carrying device capable of suitably detecting a looped recording material which is left within the device, and an image forming device. SOLUTION: The recording material carrying device comprises a plurality of rotators for carrying a recording material, which is disposed along a carrying passage of the recording material, and a plurality of rotating members disposed on the downstream side of the corresponding rotators in the carrying passage, and rotated by abutment of the rotators thereto. The recording material carrying device further comprises, for solving distortion caused in the recording material in the vicinity of the abutment position of any one rotating member, a speed control part for controlling the rotators so as to provide a speed difference between the circumferential speed of the first rotator disposed on the downstream side of the abutment position and the circumferential speed of the second rotator disposed on the upstream side thereof.
