SOLAR CELL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solar cell having superior cell characteristics and assuring higher manufacturing yield, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The solar cell 10 is provided with a semiconductor substrate where a semiconductor bonding domain, having power generating function, is formed in one principal surface side. In the solar cell, at least a side surface 11 is formed and divided at a dividing groove region formed by an energy beam process, this side surface is formed in a structure including an energy beam processing region 8a, formed with the energy beam process and a divided region 9a formed through the dividing process, and the depth (d) of the energy beam processing region is in the range of 35 to 65% of the thickness of the solar cell 10.
