Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser device with a highly reliable ridge waveguide structure by reducing distortion applied to the ridge waveguide while keeping productivity. SOLUTION: An electrode formed on a submount 2 is separated into an electrode 4 connected with the ridge waveguide, and electrodes 5 connected with an element electrode of a semiconductor laser element 1 formed on both sides of the waveguide, with a partial connecting region left over. The ridge waveguide is connected with the corresponding electrode 4 via a thick Au film, and only an element electrode is fixed and joined to the corresponding electrodes 5 via solder 6, thereby preventing the solder 6 from flowing out to the waveguide part. Thus, the semiconductor laser device with a highly reliable ridge waveguide structure can be provided by reducing the distortion applied to the ridge waveguide and keeping heat dissipating efficiency of the waveguide while the productivity is secured.
