POSITION INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position information management system capable of notifying an administrator of appropriate position information responding to whereabouts of a person to be managed. SOLUTION: The person to be managed is made to carry a portable terminal 1 equipped with a radio frequency tag 11 and a GPS receiving part 16. A terminal on a premise 10 detects the radio frequency tag 11 by a tag reader 8 and transmits updated information, on a state of a child commuting to and from a school, to a position management center 4 via a communication network 3. When the updated information on the state of the commuting to and from the school is received from the terminal on the premise 10, a tag information updating means 46 of the position management center 4 updates the state of the commuting to and from the school of a user code corresponding a position management DB44. And, when a position request with respect to the whereabouts of the child is received from a guardian terminal 5, the position management center 4 judges if the child is in the school based on the position management DB44, when the child is in the school, staying at the school is notified to the guardian terminal 5, when not in the school, the position information is acquired from the portable terminal 1 by remote control, and present position information is notified to the guardian terminal 5.
