Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fluidizing a solid catalyst having no fluidization or low fluidity in CVD method using a catalyst, so as to produce carbon nanotubes in general synthesis devices such as a fluidized-bed and a rotary kiln. SOLUTION: When bringing into contact with a carbon-containing gas under a reaction condition forming carbon nanotubes, the method for producing carbon nanotubes is characterized by synthesizing the carbon nanotubes to be fluidized the solid catalyst by bringing the carbon-containing gas into contact with the solid catalyst which is not fluidized itself or the solid catalyst having low fluidity at a temperature within a range of 500-1,000°C and under a reaction condition forming carbon nanotubes in the coexistence of a fluid aid.
