PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine which detects a limit angle at which a water tank collides with an outer box in the case of arranging the water tank such that the inclined angle can be freely adjusted, stops an inclined movement of the water tank by the limit angle thereby to prevent the water tank from colliding with the outer box, and can safely and securely control the inclined angle of the water tank. SOLUTION: In the washing machine in which the water tank can be inclined, a hanging rod moves to the upper limit movement position and the lower limit movement position of the hanging rod which are positions at which the water tank collides with the outer box due to the inclination of the water tank, the overload current value of a drive section is detected when the rod can not move exceeding the upper and lower limit movement position, the drive of the drive section is stopped by the change of the current value, and the inclined movement of the water tank exceeding the upper and lower limit movement positions is stopped.
