Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a snowfall prediction which is difficult under such the condition that snow grains require about 50 minutes to reach the surface of earth after being made from clouds, and the clouds are drifted by winds, and no predicted value nor current value of winds is known, and is possible from a prediction of clouds by knowing the predicted value and the current value of the winds. SOLUTION: A snowfall predicting method is provided which predicts an amount of earth-surface snowfall by performing a detailed computation using: a cloud predicting method for predicting occurrence, movement and development of clouds which are used for predicting a rainfall prediction; a wind profiler representing three-dimensional distributions of past, current and future winds in a space between the clouds and the surface of earth; an area model provided by the Meteorological Agency; a prediction model being a meso model; and a three-dimensional numerical computation model for the winds.
