MOUNTING STRUCTURE FOR THERMOSTAT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure for a thermostat capable of stably building the thermostat in a circulation path of refrigerant and of fixing the circulation path on an internal combustion engine main body without obstructing function of the thermostat. SOLUTION: The thermostat 5 is provided with a regulating frame 12 formed on an annular support base body 6 of which inner circumference edge part is formed in a valve seat 6a as one unit and regulating a projection head part 7a of a telescopic motion rod 7a, a stepped part 4a receiving a gasket 13 is provided at an opening inner circumference edge part of a connection part with a cooling medium channel 2 of the circulation path 40, a locking means supporting a thermostat with accompanying elastic deformation of the gasket is provided on an inner circumference surface 4ab of the stepped part or an outer circumference surface of the gasket, the thermostat is locked at a predetermined position in the cooling medium channel by the locking means, the cooling medium channel and an internal combustion engine main body are fastened as one unit with putting a gasket therebetween, and the thermostat is mounted and fixed at a predetermined position between the circulation path and the cooling medium channel of the internal combustion engine main body.
