SOLUTION: In an optical module 51 comprising: a case 52 of which at least one side is open; a lid 53 which transmits light, plugs up and hermetically seals an opening of the case 52; and an optical element 55 fixed with a light receiving/emitting surface 54 made to be faced to the lid 53, the optical element 55 is joined in a plane, where a plurality of light receiving/emitting surfaces 54 are two-dimensionally aligned and optical fiber connection means 81, 83 for holding an optical fiber 82 optically coupled to each light receiving/emitting surface 54 includes optical fiber end face in the lid 53.
