Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a refining furnace with which the productivity in a converter is ensured and the sticking state of solid metal is satisfactorily controlled without damaging the inner side wall refractory at the furnace hole part and in the furnace. SOLUTION: According to the distributing state of the solid metal stuck in the furnace, a blowing exclusive-using lance 5 or an attached lance 5' for solid metal-melting nozzle 7 are selected and either lance is alternately used by succeeding one or more heats. The distribution of the stuck solid metal is observed with the observation of eyes or a monitor-camera, and based on this observation, the present lance is changed into a prescribed lance. In the case of the heat using the attached lance with the solid metal-melting nozzle, oxygen is blown in the range of 3-10% oxygen for blow-refining, from the nozzle 7 for melting the solid metal till calmness to disturbance of gas flow in the furnace at the initial stage comes and in the middle stage except after measuring with a sub-lance at the end stage. At the initial stage and the end stage, the positive melting of the solid metal is not performed, and from the nozzle 7 for melting the solid metal, mainly purge gas is made to flow to prevent the clogging.
