Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal gasket made of a sheet material subjected to work hardening by cold rolling or a combination of cold rolling and precipitation hardening. SOLUTION: The metal gasket formed from an appropriate iron-nickel-chromium alloy contains at least one embossing, wherein the embossing substantially sufficiently recovers its function at 1,000°F, at 1,100-1,600°F or at a higher temperature range and is made of the sheet material subjected to work hardening through cold rolling or a combination of cold rolling and precipitation hardening without any post-embossing heat treatment for hardening the material. The appropriate alloy comprises, >18 wt.% Ni, >14 wt.% Cr, 0.1-10 wt.% of at least one element selected from Mo, Ti, V, Al, Co, Nb, Ta and Cu and a remaining portion is substantially Fe and unavoidable impurities.
