Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projecting apparatus capable of projecting an image whose pixels are shifted as a natural image, regardless of its installation state. SOLUTION: The projector 1 comprises a control timing setting unit 40c which recognizes the installation state of the projector 1; a pixel-shift plane sequencing unit 34 which rearranges the pixels according to the recognized installation state to enable images of normal upper and lower, and the right and left positions to be observed, divides the pixels into a plurality of pixel groups, and makes the times different and supplies them; a display control unit 29 and a display panel 21 which display the supplied pixel groups; a liquid crystal cell drive circuit 38 and a pixel shifting unit 7, which shift the pixel groups displayed by the display panel 21 to corresponding positions; and a plane sequence timing control circuit 37, which controls the data supply order of the respective pixel groups of the pixel-shift plane sequencing unit 34 and the pixel shifting order of the liquid crystal cell drive circuit 38, according to the installation state so that the order of display of the respective pixel groups is the same as the imaging order thereof.
