PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sock helpful for preventing a wearer from stumbling when walking. SOLUTION: The sock is structured so that the number of knitting courses of an instep part 5 per unit length is fewer than that of a sole part 6. Such a structure of the sock makes the instep part 5 have small longitudinal stretchability, and the instep part 5 pulls a toe part 7 toward the side of the instep part when worn, so that the toe part 7 can be helped in turning upward or turn upward so as to be helpful for preventing the wearer from stumbling or falling down.
