NEWSPRINT PAPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain newsprint paper having excellent printabilities such as ink density, ink setting properties, ink receptivity, etc., even in the case of multicolored offset rotary printing using cold set ink. SOLUTION: The newsprint paper for offset rotary printing has a basis weight of 38-48 g/m2and uses cold setting ink. The surface of base paper is coated with starch and a PVA in the solid mass ratio of 10:0.8-2.0, the ratio (in terms of oxide) of regenerated particles composed of aggregate detected in the overlapping of Si, Al and Ca in the element range in which Si, Al, Ca and Mg are detected by surface analysis (100 times) of the surface of base paper using EPMA (X-ray microanalyzer) is ≥50% and the detection ratio (in terms of oxide) of Ca alone is ≤10%.
