Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost transmission line of low transmission loss, capable of replacing a metal waveguide lacking flexibility at high frequency in a microwave or higher band. SOLUTION: Using a fiber bundle formed of inexpensive chemical fiber threads or non-woven fabric as a dielectric transmission line, there is provided a dielectric cable or a waveguide excellent in flexibility with low loss at the high frequency in the microwave band or higher. By forming the fiber bundle of combined threads having different permittivity, a permittivity distribution structure in the cross section of the transmission line can be easily controlled, producing a merit of easily coping with propagation modes in an electromagnetic field. Further, since a lot of gaps are included in the fiber bundle, the permittivity of the fiber bundle becomes smaller than the permittivity of the thread for the amount of the gap, and the transmission loss in the electromagnetic field becomes smaller as well.
