TRANSMISSION POWER CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND BASE STATION FOR USE THEREIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent superfluous reception quality for a mobile located in the vicinity of a base station and interference with other cell by controlling transmission power of a SCCPCH(FACH) for MBMS in mobile communication system appropriately. SOLUTION: Transmission power control for individual channel is not made for transmission power of a SCCPCH(FACH) which is a common channel for MBMS and a power (constant) large enough to cover up to the cell boundary is transmitted at first, but it is desirable to drop the power of FACH gradually so as to reduce useless transmission power as much as possible. Control of transmission power is designated by Iub Frame(FACH) received in the base station from a host RNC, and the base station not only follows the designated transmission power, but also makes voluntary control of transmission power while taking account of the receiving situation of SCCPCH in the receiver.
