SOLUTION: A car navigation apparatus sets and registers interactively with the user an intersection for guiding congestion information, regardless of the route, determines which of "smooth"→"crowded" and "crowded"→"congested" is to be used to guide the congestion information, determines the threshold of the length of the congestion to be guided, and guides the congestion information, when actual congestion changes from "smooth" → "crowded" or from "crowded" → "congestion", or when the threshold of the length of congestion is exceeded.
