GRINDING DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding device and method capable of greatly improving the productivity by contour-machining a workpiece corresponding to a plurality of works. SOLUTION: The workpiece 1 formed in advance with a plurality sets of slope faces 1c-1f corresponding to the shapes of the both end parts of the works 5 and 6 is contour-machined with a contour-machining grinding wheel. The contour machining for a plurality of works is collectively executed on the workpiece 1 by the grinding wheel while conveying the workpiece 1 with its respective slope faces 1c-1f supported to the slope face of a conveying rail, and when separating it into the respective works, this grinding device executes the contour-machining while supporting at least the lower ends of the slope faces 1d and 1e corresponding to the slope face in the work side adjoining to the work positioned outermost side by a slip prevention mechanism.
