Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the reading of a character string by effectively utilizing a database. SOLUTION: A conversion table obtained by associating words contained in a character string stored in a database (CDDB and map information) with the reading of the words is previously generated; and when a user inputs words to be an object whose reading is registered (S201), reading of the inputted word is, set on the basis of the conversion table (S204). Even if the word itself, entered by the user, is not registered as a character string in the database, it is possible to extract the reading of the word, if the word has been registered as a portion of the character string.
