SOLUTION: The seal assembly (100) includes a seal ring (102) which comprises an arcuate inner ring portion (114), an arcuate outer ring portion (120) and a neck portion (128) extending therebetween. The assembly has at least one recess formed within at least one of a seal ring outer ring portion and a seal ring neck portion.
