Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive active material having high charge discharge characteristics and to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery using the positive active material. SOLUTION: A positive mix layer 2B contains the positive active material. In the positive active material, an absorption edge peak appearing in the vicinity of 530 eV at oxygen K absorption edge in X-ray absorption spectrum at the oxygen K absorption edge measured in an X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) analytical method shows certain behavior.
